Description

The America the Beautiful Quarters are a series of 25-cent pieces (quarters) issued by the United States Mint from 2010 until at least 2021.

Yosemite National Park is a United States National Park spanning in the central eastern portion of the U.S. state of California, commonly referred to as Northern California. Yosemite is internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves, and biological diversity.

Quarters are issued depicting designs of national parks and sites in the order of which that park or site was deemed a national site. Release date (national site date): July 26, 2010 (October 1, 1890).

Reverse

El Capitan ("the captain", "the chief") is a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park, located on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. The granite monolith extends about 900 m from base to summit along its tallest face and is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers and BASE jumpers.
