Description

The Royal Mint continues it's wonderfully creative Portrait of Britain series of exploring Britain's unique heritage with a nostalgic celebration of the country's seaside. This silver Proof set celebrates the individual character and charm of 4 much loved seaside towns: Brighton, Blackpool, Tenby and Southwold.

These contemporary designs enjoy a special trichromatic colour printing technique on sterling silver and finished to a pristine Proof quality. This innnovative printing process, which showcases the skill of The Royal Mint's craftsmanship, creates a delicate watercolour-like effect that has to be seen first-hand to be truly admired.

The George IV State Diadem, officially the Diamond Diadem, is a type of crown that was made in 1820 for King George IV. The diadem is worn by queens and queens consort in procession to coronations and State Openings of Parliament. The piece of jewelry has been featured in paintings and on stamps and currency. It can be seen in the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

Tenby (Welsh: Dinbych-y-pysgod, meaning fortlet of the fish) is a walled seaside town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on the western side of Carmarthen Bay, and the name for the local government community of Tenby. Notable features of Tenby include 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of sandy beaches; the 13th century medieval town walls, including the Five Arches barbican gatehouse; the 15th century St. Mary's Church; the Tudor Merchant's House (National Trust); Tenby Museum and Art Gallery; and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, part of Wales' only coastal National Park.
