Description

Moharram Printing Press Company has been founded by the higher decree that was issued by Khdewy Mohamed Tawfik on May 12, 1885, under the name of "Egyptian Commercial Co." It has started its work at the old headquarters located in Moharam Bek in Alexandria. The company was partly nationalized in 1961 and was completely nationalized in 1963.

Moharram Printing Press Co. has started its activity by producing calendars, shares and documents. It was involved with the printing of playing cardboard, the banknotes for Syria and Lebanon in the fifties etc.

Obverse

Depicts a printing design on shaded field that resembles the letter 'B' within it the first Arabic letter of company name (M). The inscription "Centenary of Moharram Printing Press Company' above and "Established in 1885" below.
