The silver coin "The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids" is the 9th issue in the series Grimms' Fairy Tales, which started in 2012.

Grimms' Fairy Tales, originally known as the Children's and Household Tales (German: Kinder- und Hausmärchen), is a German collection of fairy tales by the Grimm brothers or "Brothers Grimm", Jacob and Wilhelm, first published on 20 December 1812. Vol. 1 of the first edition contained 86 stories, which were followed by 70 more tales, numbered consecutively, in the 1st edition, Vol. 2, in 1815. By the seventh edition in 1857, the corpus of tales had expanded to 200 tales and 10 "Children's Legends".

Obverse

Depicts a stylised German eagle with 12 stars representing the European Union. The state name above. The fineness and a mintmark just below the eagle. The issue year and the denomination below.

The coat of arms of Germany displays a black eagle with red feet, beak and tongue on a golden field. This is the Bundesadler or "Federal Eagle", formerly the Reichsadler or "Imperial Eagle". It is a re-introduction of the coat of arms of the Weimar Republic (in use 1919–1935) adopted by the Federal Republic of Germany in 1950. The current official design is due to Tobias Schwab (1887–1967) and was introduced in 1928.

Depicts the main scene of the tale surrounded by the inscriptions "The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats" above and "Grimms' Fairy Tales" below.

"The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats" (German: Der Wolf und die sieben jungen Geißlein) is a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm.

Synopsis: In spite of their grandmother's warnings, seven little goats open the door for the big bad wolf, who proceeds to gobble up all but one of them! When the mother goat finds her seventh kid, she knows she must rescue the others from the wolf's belly.
