Grimms' Fairy Tales, originally known as the Children's and Household Tales (German: Kinder- und Hausmärchen), is a German collection of fairy tales by the Grimm brothers or "Brothers Grimm", Jacob and Wilhelm, first published on 20 December 1812. Vol. 1 of the first edition contained 86 stories, which were followed by 70 more tales, numbered consecutively, in the 1st edition, Vol. 2, in 1815. By the seventh edition in 1857, the corpus of tales had expanded to 200 tales and 10 "Children's Legends".

Depicts Rumpelstiltskin and the miller's daughter, who later becomes the queen in the fairy tale. Also shown is the cradle of her firstborn, which she had to promise to Rumpelstiltskin after he helped her spin large amounts of straw into gold for the king. After several failed attempts to guess the name of the strange man, Rumpelstiltskin finally reveals the name himself with the song "tonight tonight, my plans I make, tomorrow tomorrow, the baby I take. The queen will never win the game, for Rumpelstiltskin is my name", so that the queen can keep her child and Rumpelstiltskin splits himself in two full of rage. The inscriptions "Rumpelstiltskin" above and "Grimms' Fairy Tales" below. The engraver's initials on the left. RUMPELSTILZCHEN |
